Novocaine : a temporary cure for the funny bone

NovoCaine :-

Procaine is a local anesthetic drug of the amino ester group. It is used primarily to reduce the pain of intramuscular injection of penicillin, and is also used in dentistry. Owing to the ubiquity of the trade name Novocain, procaine is sometimes referred to generically as novocaine. Lol..Cool Down.. That's not what i wantd to speak about. Well, Novocaine is Novocaine is a 2001 film written and directed by David Atkins and starring Steve Martin, Laura Dern, Helena Bonham Carter, Lynne Thigpen and Elias Koteas. Nobody recommended to watch this movie. Infact ive never even heard the name of this movie. It just happened casually, but it turned out to be one of the best movies ive seen this year. It doesnt have a complicated screenplay like "The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind " or "Memento". Rather it has a very "clever" screenplay. The reason why i named it "Clever" is bcos, the reason behind each & every scene & twist is explained so well . The story just revolves around a few characters , making it a beautifully knit artwork , done just with a few colours . I dont understand how Steve Martin perfectly fits any role under-the-earth . Helena Carter does a neat job as a drug dealer. Laura Dern's character has been written with utmost care, which has to be specified separately . The story revolves around a Dentist, who makes a small mistake & how it horrifies his life and the rest deals with how unexpectedly he solves it . David Atkins excels as a director right in his first movie. Another aspect to be appreciated is that, this film was shot in a short span of 32 days !! Wow.....................

Overall , the movie does become a tad bit too serious at times, but thankfully the movie is mostly just fun. It's good quality entertainment to watch and better than your average film-noir/comedy crossover attempt, which is mainly due to the great cast of the movie and the solid written story .

Goofs :-

1.) When Frank (Steve Martin) enters the bathroom for the first time, you can see the reflection of a cameraman in the shower door.
2.) When Frank is pulling his brother's teeth, you can see the tooth in the pliers before he's fully dislodged it.
3.) On all the drug vials in the movie, "pharmaceuticals" is misspelled "pharmacueticals."
4.) The bruise on Frank's left cheek changes notably between scenes
